Should have called Tewk's. It seems he is pretty wicked with a chain saw and probably would have only cost you a BBQ sandwich.

we might have some of that around these parts, but this a Cajun house, its gumbo season and King cake time

@RougarouHelping the son with some tree work yesterday as well. Those spider lifts are cool, damn expensive as well.

After 31 years of looking at this “in style for approximately 3 minutes” kitchen floor, it’s time.:dontknow:

There's a fancy barbershop next door and I've seen it there before, won't speculate any further than that : )  It is nice though, the most impressive thing to me were the brakes, you can tell a lot about a car by it's brakes..

You do know that as soon as you change it, it will be back in style, and your new selection out, right?

Ask everybody that painted everything gray in the last 5 years.

I think we have that same tile in one of our bathrooms.

When my foreman and I work on tile.  I cut it, she lays it and grouts it.

56 pounds a box x 15 told me I shouldn’t need the gym tonight, but I do. :)

Not as crafty as you guys, I have to pay people. :dopeslap: :classic_biggrin:

Laying tile and even putting tile on the walls ain't that difficult.  Get the right peanut butter consistency, batter the floor, batter the tile, stick it down.  Give a little wiggle/push, viola', tile laid.  Gotta have your starting point and your tile spacers.  All of our tile was cut by a grinder with a diamond blade.  At paying someone $5+ a square "just to lay tile", nah, we'll figure it out.

Our last house, we tiled the kitchen, three bathrooms, two long hallways.  We discovered at that house about "spans".  Too long a span over a basement causes the grout to pop even for the most minute movement,.....enter the epoxy grout,.....it flexes and doesn't pop out.

This house, the bathrooms were all re-tiled, two showers and backsplashes.  Our main bathroom, we paid someone---wanted it done quickly, otherwise we'd have completed that one too.

The kitchen, dining, living room and hallway are all cork flooring.

Home project ain't that hard if you give it a go.  Screw up, measure again and cut another piece.

My guy :classic_biggrin: was recommend by my “builder” coworker friend (who does masterful work himself). He says this guy (kid to me) is the absolute best tile guy he’s ever seen. So that’s good, he’s not cheap but that’s ok if it’s done right.

I got a guy. I don't do tile.

Actually, I don't do much for home improvement anymore. I've done it. I'm over it.

I like my projects to have an end.

Hence, I don't really take on many. I'm not afraid to hire them out. Plus, I have a lot of guys.

That sounds wrong.

I vote for the layout on the right (depending on the direction with the greatest percentage of views).

90% of the time I’m sitting on the couch looking this way. :classic_biggrin:

The other view is the longer distance. Tile guy thinks running them like pictured in front of the door would be the way to go. (long way in the longest distance of the room) Which might be in disagreement with your thinking. :dontknow: Funny this whole directional conversation took place this afternoon.

Longer view, excuse the clutter. :classic_blush:

(Now) knowing that, I think I agree.

Might want to lay more of them out in the different options to get a better idea.

My one & only (to date) tile job..

I decided I didn’t want this look
