The weather finally got out of the 90's, so Joel and I took a tune up ride to Bryson City, NC so we wouldn't embaras ourselves at FART!

Pictures from today’s ride. Had a nice mix of roads, even a few miles of dirt and big gravel roads, not on purpose. I must a turn and the road looked so nice and curvy I just kept going. Oh well. In WV I found miles and miles of one lane roads with big gravel shoulders and at times large deposits of gravel and gray sand in the apexes. These roads 

got especially interesting with traffic coming the other way. 
Don’t worry, I don’t think I included any of those roads in the FART routes.

I’m in a memory lane discussion with @9Mary7 so decided to take a slight detour on my commute home to re-live my wasted youth 

 

Stunt road in the Santa Monica mountains is a magical place.  
So close to smelLA, yet in a different universe.  

 

Leaving PCH up Las Flores dumps you out on Rambla Pacifica which takes you to Schueren in the near distance to complete the journey to the top of Stunt. 

 

 

Here’s the top. 
 

 

Back in the day I could scramble to the top in about 5 minutes (miss those days). 
It’s quite the view with the western San Fernando Valley to the North & the Santa Monica Bay to the South.  (Kinda hazy today so didn’t bother with images). 
 

In this image about midpoint on the ridge was a fire lookout tower that was awesome to climb to the top of & admire the view.
