Redman
ANother example of some of the roads there. THis near Ft Ritner. Road goes under elevated tracks, and follow tracks, then may go over tracks or maybe under tracks again. THis bridge under the tracks included a creek also. My ride home Sunday. Here about 40 miles from home Stupid story: Only got about 10 miles, When I needed to stop and put on rain gear: put on pants, put on jacket, put on rain boots, got out pouch that I thought was rain mitts but was another pair of over boots - doah. So continued on. My gloves got wett in about 15 minutes. Was 62to 66 degF and I had about 7 more hours or more to go, so improvised by using the thin plastic gloves that I found at the diesel pumps. At least I didnt get any MORE cold water in my gloves. 4 Link to comment

BamaJohn
Yesterday's ride with 2 friends took us southward to the Gee's Bend Ferry and the famous quilting community of Gee's Bend (Boykin, AL). On this, our second attempt to make the ferry part of our ride, it was not running, even though the sign at the landing said it was "open". So we amused ourselves with a ride back thru Selma and to the ruins of Cahawba, the first Alabama State Capitol (1820-1826). Located at the confluence of the Alabama River and Cahaba River, it prospered until after the Civil War. 11 Link to comment

flyingfrogs19
Yes. Rode to work and it is hotter than hell here in Dallas, TX. All good though I do not mind. I got my '98 R1200C rolling again. 13K+ miles and back on the road. I love it. I am new to this BMW. Always rode a big cruiser. my last was a Honda VTX '02 1800c loved it. POWERFUL. Anyway, it got stolen! I was sad. I had to drive a car for 6 months. Anyway back on the road. I left work today and got to the normal intersection I turn at and a car T-boned a mini van and flipped the van on its side. I got up there to get past the traffic jam and saw this. I pulled over as it just happened and someone was trapped inside the van. Everyone was standing around. I mean could've have been kids in there, etc. fluids leaking everywhere. I stopped to help. It's what I do. Help the lady get out of the van. Made sure the ignitions were off and check that no gas was leaking. Crazy. this was a small intersection; what was that driver doing. Anyway stop to help yall. Be smart though. The two seemed ok just in shock. The firetruck and ambulance came and I ducked out of there before they blocked off the roads, etc. It was hot out and that was my start of a fun ride home. This bike is awesome. Can post pics another time. Where is the best place to talk about mechanics on these engines? Thanks Y'all! 4 Link to comment

Not quite Avenue of the Giants from NorCal, but they did have Trail of 100 Giants north of Johnsondale. 2000 year old Sequoia’s were impressive. To illustrate the size of this thing, note the person on the left side of the tree entering a hollowed portion of it. Video attached is the same waterfall Mr Duck posted but looking down from top. Feeling a little adventurous are you? Nice bike, I almost bought that same exact one but decided to wait, & wait, & wait some more to see what the next generation GS looked like. TEWKS
So, this is what happens when you ride your bike to the station to pick up your paycheck. (I know, direct deposit) (I’m one of four holdouts receiving paper checks) Anyway, E-1’s driver got sick (vomiting) and I walked through the door at the right time. They asked me if I wanted to work so, my bike ride became a fire truck drive. 2 Link to comment

PCH is closed in the middle at Lucia indefinitely for repairs due to slides. but it still didn’t disappoint other than a lot of fog. Pics are from the few spots the sun broke thru. 11 Link to comment

The XR Outlaws showed up in mass - no doubt hoping that their numbers could help outpace the Camhead RT's of Wristy Rich and Yours Truly. The XR Outlaws claimed to be riding in RAIN MODE which, while keeping their front wheels down on mid and exit corner acceleration, they claimed kept them from keeping pace with the MadMax RT of Wristy Rich. EdM
Another trip out to Hanna Alberta to visit my Mom in the care home there. The trip is pretty limited for interesting routes but I have a few options that are pavement depending on the time I have. Today I did a little side trip from Drumheller up the Dinosaur Trail to the Blerriot Ferry which is a seasonal crossing on the Red Deer River. Its a bit of a scenic road in spots to and from the ferry. The ferry is a short cable driven trip to cross the river and is named after the homesteader of the nearby area who happened to have a more famous brother for his aviation feats. Also, bumped the odometer up just past 8000 kms on the return trip. Not too bad for three months riding. 6 Link to comment
