Congratulations Marcus Mariotta and Duck fans.

He is a wonderful choice for the Heisman.

Can Marcus Mariotta overcome the Heisman pressure?

For a long time the Heisjinx got the strong silent types.

Recent winners have been successful so which way will it impact him?

There are a lot of obligations that interfere w/preparations for the next game.

While I congratulate him I will be rooting for the other team.

:P

Go Noles!

I was reading an article about Winston's rape allegation. It indicated that two of Winston's teammates witnessed portions of the sex act and that it appeared to be consensual.

Evidently football is not the only popular spectator sport at FSU.

Sadly our HS got skunked today in the state title game.

But a great season anyways.

Would that be the American Heritage 38-0 rout of Tallahassee Godby you would be referring to? That's my Daughter's school.

I'd chest pump and taunt, but I've never been to a game even though they are repeat 5A State Champs. Must say, they are an up and comer stealing headlines from St. Thomas Aquinas (my older daughter's former school). They took on an absurdly difficult schedule this year, and still came out pretty well. New coach Mike Rumph arrived two years ago, and is making a difference.

Link to comment

Yep.

Godby won in 2012, AmHert in 2013, so a matchup of past 2 champs.

Congrats.

Very sad news from Auburn.

Ayup, I'm wondering what it will come out to be... Whether it will be related to some other crime or just random violence.

Really bad either way.

While he is an easy (too easy) target, let us remember that his

TD responsible for minus turnovers is a +49 from the year he won the Heisman.

Best all time.

Yeah, read the transcript of the "conduct hearing" what a load of shite...

Oh well. I'm sure he's serve the semihole nation proud as he carries forth the criminole way.

Amazed that the NCAA hasn't stepped in yet. Vacate the wins for past 2 years and ban football for a year or so. Looks a lot like the Penn State situation to me.

Lets go Buckeyes, don't make it a long ride home. Should be a good game regardless of outcome.

Enjoy the game. Easy to pull for the Buckeye Nation on this one. If I may make a restaurant recommendation, The Gumbo Shop serves up some tasty stuff.

It's interesting to see what will happen.

I was amazed to see that Aaron Hernandez was welcomed back to the Patriots after he was cleared of the charges against him.

Not a thing.

People who actually read/saw the evidence.

People who actually talked to the individuals involved and could look them in the eye and judge their demeanor, candor.

People with no affiliation and impeccable credentials reached the same conclusion, multiple times, and no amount of misrepresenting facts ala NY Times will change the facts.

The girl changed her story at least seven times.

Toxicology reports showed she had not been drugged and was not intoxicated.

She had multiple semen samples in her panties and multiple stories about who/when they got there.

She had a history of social media posting wrt "cleat chasing."

She texted her BFF "I did something bad" after the encounter.

After independent examination by highly respected jurists w/no affiliation to the school, same outcome, regardless of how low the standard was for finding fault/guilt.

The President of the Florida Bar has chastised and criticized the accuser's attorney(s) for statments made after the Code of Conduct hearing.

The facts have not changed since day one.

Only inflamed rhetoric, half truths, innuendo are left for those who vicarioulsy want to see something anti-FSU happen.

Penn State was based on evidence and the outcome was based on what the evidence showed had happened.

Each vicitm supporting and adding to the crescendo of institutional misconduct and actual abuse of the young men.

There is no doubt about what happened and who was involved.

This too is based on evidence and the outcome based on facts.

In both cases the judicial inquiry and investigative process revealed the truth and disposition followed accordingly.

Happy New Year.

So, back to the games!

Some pretty dang good games between teams full of enthusiasm

and effort.

Throw seven TD passes and NOT be the MVP?

The best end of a bowl game flea flickin ever!

Blown 2 pt plays to win, and improbable plays by unknowns to cheer.

Here's to continued bowl madness and fun.

Go Noles!

Hard tellin' about the rape allegation, Winston could well be the poor innocent victim of false witness.

By his own admission and those of his mates, he conducted a sex exhibition like a wannabe pornstar. Casher asked to join in (was denied) filmed the ongoing show then destroyed the evidence.

Seems like there would have been a sanction for moral turpitude or something.

Even PT Barnum kept the sideshow geeks out of the center ring.

Really?

The attention, awareness, and fund raising, Jimbo and his family have done for Franconi's anemia is noteworthy.

Go Noles!

Maybe he'll lead his team with that much integrity someday.

So, another Big 10/11/12 whatever they are team get beaten by a mid-major.

LaTech rolls over the Illini.

Not a shock as same result when they met last time in regular season.

Kudos to the midshipmen as Navy won their bowl game before Christmas.

Go Noles!

Wow yes what a huge win.

Illinois ranks 109 in total defense and 94th in total offense. LA Tech 36th and 62nd respectively.

Go Bucks! Go Ducks!

And Rutgers (a noob but still) redeems the bIg1X with an impressive win.

The Carolinas split for the ACC, State of Utah wins 2, Air Force and Navy put the Academies at #1, and 5 games today!

Can VT beat another team from Ohio?

Can the Huskers still shuck corn or will the Trojans prevail?

PSU is back in a bowl, bet they will be psyched.

Go Noles!

Football? Illinois spends it's effort trying to have a really average basketball team. We still had Butkus and Grange.

Well that is what you should expect if someone is cleared of charges, i.e., found NOT guilty. No fines, no suspension, no banishment, no team repercussions.

It's how the system works, you don't get punished if you are found to not have committed any crime. The court of public opinion and the conspiracy freaks, fortunately, don't get to enforce any punishment, though they will bitch ad nauseum if things didn't turn out they way they think it should have.

Now, how about Jim Harbaugh coming home to coach the Wolverines? Go BLUE!

May go a long way towards bringing the bIg 11 1/2 to the edge of

bestness as a conference.

Seems like once there are 3 or 4 coaches who are "noteworthy"

Saban/Miles/Myers as an example from the SEC daze, then the talking heads contribute to the cult of personality that lures recruits to the flame...

with better players the results follow and so does tv telling us how great the progams are.

Everything is cyclical.

I keep waiting for the ACC to get another name brand coach to help elevate the entire conference but doesn't seem likely that there is a contender behind Jimbo/Dabo.

How about Clemson wiping the Sooners off the field?

Congratulations!

With Arkansas crushing Texas and Texas A&M survivng West Virginia (playing w/out their starting QB, good luck Clint) the SEC is having another banner day.

Go Noles!

Just quoting for emphasis and the slim chance haters will get it.

Thanks Bill.

I said I was surprised. I thought him damaged goods that would be traded. I guess we'll see if he makes the 53 man roster next year.

He's a kid, know plenty who have dealt with him, arrives early signs aoutgraphs, pleasant, cordial, works in class.

But, has the frontal lobe of a 13 yo boy, impulsive and unfiltered.

Not excusing at all, but that seems to be the consensus more than a thug mentality.

Some grow out of it, others not so much. I'm betting, and hoping JW will.

In other news, ESPN's biography on The Boz this week was kind of interesting.

So the state of Messuhslippy loses 2 games.

Old Miss and MissStaken beaten soundly.

Hmmmm...

One has to wonder if this is a good sign for Ohio State if 2 teams that beat or could've beaten 'Bama looked so bad.

Or is it just this year and how close so many teams really are and the "on any day" is a reality?

Clemson and Georgia Tech do the ACC good in big matchups.

TCU makes a big statement.

It all unfolds today.

Go Noles!

Wow! I thought Baylor had their game well in hand, so I switched over to Wisconsin v. Auburn. That game went to overtime, and ended with a field goal try going just off the right upright.

Looked around elsewhere, and then switched back to ESPN, only to find Sparty was up 42-41 with seconds to go, they intercept a pass and it's all over.

You just never know...

Michigan State Spartans down 41-21 to start the 4th quarter only to comeback and WIN !

:)

Good game, Spartans. Now it's FSU's turn (hopefully not in come-from-behind fashion).

Meltdown. Game over. The pooch has been screwed. No repeat. (Laugh, Matt, laugh!) Oregon for the championship.

Now, bring on the fourth quarter. Wait, is there a Doctor Who rerun on?

Anyone else enjoying this?? I won a bet with one of two FSU fans at my office - pizza & beer. Oh, by the way, his obnoxious text messages trailed off after the start of the third Q. :/
