longjohn
I had an appt in van nuys Wednesday and when I got out I rode to ca 39 to see if the boatload of rain that we got on Tuesday had made a difference in the level of the San Gabriel dam. 4.99”of rain fell in Pasadena on Tuesday. Whew. Hi @Groanup 😀 Below you can see the difference 50 days makes. 8 Link to comment
RandyShields
With temps topping at 58 for a moment on Sunday, I got out on an afternoon ride to Redbone Willy's Trading Company,, a unique general store in Lawndale, NC with eclectic vintage clothing, jewelry, boots and lots of hats -- old and new. It also has lunch food and about 20 varieties of homemade ice cream. I got coffee flavor and it was quite tasty. 8 Link to comment

I’ve only ever gotten ice cream there and honestly never thought of having lunch there, not sure if they have seating as we’ve always sat outside in summer on rocking chairs. Has any of that changed?? I’ve always viewed it as more of an eclectic shop that has ice cream. Link to comment

Redman
35degF today, but not raining, so better than most recent day, and suppose to return to “winter mix” tommorow…… so got out for ride today. took the bike with better wind protection and heated grips: the RT went further out of town, then into town to stop by the beach/pier. Rode back out of town and stopped for roadside picture, but phone died (forgot to keep inside warm pocket, not tank bag when cold). not a lot of miles, maybe 20, but was good to get out for ride. That serves as a January ride. Can be difficult to get in a February ride. 9 Link to comment

Bernie
I decided to skip work and ride down to Astor, FL to Drifters Grill to meet some of the local members of my local club, BMW-NEF for lunch. Bernie
Just returned home from a 313mile ride to Micanopy, FL for some soup and a sandwich. In the morning I stopped at DOS Coffee in St Augustine, FL to meet a few other riders. After coffee and refreshments and letting the sun warm up everything a little, we rode the long slow way to Micanopy, FL for lunch. Low temperatures in the morning of 31F and a high of almost 60F after lunch (59.9F ). Here is a picture of sunup before the coffee stop. And of course a picture of lunch. 10 Link to comment

syntorz
The thread title isn't specific, so I say this counts. I'm not a hard core sledder like the others. Once a year at most. I'm in pretty darn good shape IMHO but I've NEVER been so sore after thrashing a sled through the woods for 150 miles. 5 Link to comment
Hosstage
Oh yeah, sledding will beat hell out of you! Good looking machines. I talked with a kid that raced moto cross, he got talked into racing sleds one year, moto cross style. He said riding the bikes was pretty rough on the body, but nothing compared to racing sleds, he said it absolutely beat hell out of him. He'd rather ride a 1/2 hour moto than an 8 lap heat race on the sleds. But damn, they are fun! Link to comment

Then there were 2, team Zuki. From a different year in June, downed trees are common early in the season before the locals (Ramz on Adv) get out with their chain saws. We had to lift my bike over this one and as you can see from the missing bark others just rode over it (Caleb is contemplating the odds and in the end managed but not w/o some excitement : ) a really nice day. 1 Link to comment
