azkaisr
Since Larry is in the city this week, I thought I would go back out to the back country here. We went on a 12+ mile hike Saturday. It was glorious out there but no cabs. Photo by Nick Purzer Longest hike for me in a long time. The sticks make a world of difference out there. Black Mesa looking towards Weaver's Needle Closer to the Needle If you look close you can see snow on the top of the mountain in the background. A glorious trip out and back Link to comment
johnlt
Excellent photos Tom; you keep getting better and better at this photography stuff. See ya at JT campout. Remind me to pay you the $20 I owe you for the Roosevelt campground. Cheers, Link to comment

Bruce H
Ewell, you got it!... hard to hide that barn. If you fill out your profile we'll know your name?... Bruce H, Newport, Oregon Link to comment
Ewell D.
Bruce It's Ewell Davenport. (pronounced like yule) I will answer to most anything though. Couldn't help recognizing the round barn as I have gone by it many many times. An old logger I worked with summers while going to college had a saying about that barn which doesn't bear repeating here but which has caused it to stick in my mind's eye. I will have to take that route by bike, when going by car I usually take the Poodle Creek cut-off and miss the barn. This is an awesome site. I have learned a lot about my RSL and how to maintain it from the RS owners site on bikers oracle and check it almost daily. This site, however, has shown itself to be a very real community. Witness the way TallPaul went out of his way to help a fellow rider. The technical discussions are very relevant to my model of bmw but the stories, photos, and sharing of kowledge are what have me coming back again and again. I look forward to meeting some of you. Keith S
Ice Climbers These were taken at the junction of the road to Banff and Lake Minnewanka, Banff National Park. I thought you all would enjoy this……. Here is a wide shot to give some scale. The mountain peak in the background is probably between 8000 to 9000 feet. This is a zoom shot (200mm c/w 1.4 converter). Here is a crop to show the ice climbers. Take a look and you can see the climbing rope on the guy (top dead centre) These folks are nuts! Keith Link to comment
johnlt
Took a visitor from Oregan on a southern AZ loop this weekend. Caught these fellas heading to the barn again: Very unusual very green rock at just under 5K feet on the border: Link to comment

Paul Mihalka
Yesterday I visited the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum near Dulles airport. The B71 always looks like scary science fiction to me: In this little plane I did most (not really much) of my flying. Globe Swift. Side-by-side two seater, all metal, retractable wheels, tail dragger. Very modern for 1950. A little fighter plane, but with original 100 HP, modified to 140. Link to comment

Whip
Very nice gentlemen....... I got a nice surprise this weekend, Mrs Whip found an old SD card that I had never seen before, filled with pix from past adventures. Must be on the way to see Francois in Florida. The best pic of all.....my brother in-law being attacked by a Zebra at a Wild Life Park. Mrs. Whip went for the camera ......just like I taught her. Hope y'all have a great week. Link to comment

Huzband
Actually, Craig Vetter designed the original Hippo Hands in 1971. My Dad had a pair in his R69US, & I had them on my R75. Bulky & cumbersome to be sure. But since heated grips were not yet invented, they were a blessing on really cold days. Link to comment

Twisties
Wow! Edit, no "Wow!" isn't enough.... That shot really rocks, the wide angle, perfect focus, beautiful definition in the water flow, and yet smooth cotton candy effect, the lighting. That's just 100% there, that is. Perfection.
