We have to stop by Salt Lake and pick up Andy.

Then he will really know what he's been missing...

 

Please do as I have missed a lot lately.

 

Debi and I are still trying to solidify plans to make it down there this weekend. One way or another, you will see us. It just depends if it is Me, Me and Debi, or the whole frickin fam (we need a break from the kids, so I hope it is not the this last option).

 

Details to follow...

You must have the worst kids in the world if spending a weekend with Wurty is taking a break :rofl:

Andy, try this. Hire Wurty to babysit. You and Debi come on down and have yourselves a weekend. By the time you get home, your kids will be sooooooo glad to see you and be rid of The Ogre, you'll never have another problem with them until they've moved out of the house.

 

Now THAT is a plan.

 

If I tell my kids that Uncle Wurty has dirt bikes, they may want to stay with him forever. That and they love to pull fingers when someone asks them to. (Their mom hates that one, but it never gets old if you ask me.)

 

Okay, back to reality. Debi says the kids are not coming with us. That's all I know to date. More to follow...

Andy I'll shape those kids into fine citizens .

They will have all the education I can give them.

By the time you and Deb get home they will be able to play the Star Spangle Banner armpit fartin style.

Heavy Metal music and cheap cigars smoke will permeate your neighborhood and a slomen course of Scotch bottles will line your sidewalk for their skate boarding entertainment.

OK, it's late, but it looks like I'm IN.

 

Things seem to be coming together so I'll be able to make it this time, although I still have to make reservations to stay somewhere. I'll be arriving mid-day Friday and leaving Monday morning.

 

Does someone have a link to Bob's Torrey page? I thought I had it bookmarked, but now I can't find it. I looked at the "Links" page here also and didn't see it there either.

 

Does anyone happen to know if that small casino and ramshackle motel right at the Nevada/Utah border on hwy 50 is still there? It's basic, but I don't like staying in Ely, and Delta is really a bit far, especially in the dark.

 

Do we still have the Friday evening meet-and-greet in the pool area?

Is this the Torrey page to which you are referring? ....... The Torrey Tales

 

Bob used to have a page with all the Torrey info: places to stay, places to eat, and other general info. That's what I was looking for. Sue has a room for me at Boulder View Inn, so I'm set for that.

 

Russell, Marty, it'll be good to see you again. Even Wurty! :/ The last time I was able to make it was for Gleno's Memorial Torrey, almost a year-and-a-half ago. Yes, it's been too long!

Unfortunately, it looks like I am OUT!! :( I have all the classic symptoms of an inner ear infection, which is manifesting itself in bouts of wooziness. Scheduled to get that checked out tomorrow. In any case, it's not a good symptom to be riding a motorcycle with, especially for long distances.

 

Soooo....that opens up a bed at the Boulder View Inn. I had planned on meeting up with Joe G in Fallon, and proceeding from there. Joe is still attending, and has the room reservation. Please let me know if you are interested in sharing a room with him; I will let him know.

 

He's actually a pretty good guy, especially if you can tell him where all of the good pizza or sfogliatelle in town is located. :eek:

Work has been sketchy at best but a few jobs have come through making it possible to take a a little trip to see you all!!!

 

Need to work out a few details but at this very moment I'm IN!

Vlad decided to do it Fernando style...he left at o dark thirty so that the sun could be in his eyes... :dopeslap::rofl:. Marty and I slept in (actually Marty was up at 4 am) so I guess I slept in BUT we are so outta here!! See everyone tomorrow and Wurty, you missed a great dinner!! :grin:

Anyone planning on heading across the Sierra on I-80 may want to be aware of the CalTrans warning for long delays due to the road work and "Street Vibrations" in Reno this week-end. Linky

Unfortunately, Wurtly will not have to baby sit my kids as they will be staying with family here in SLC. The good news is that Debi and I are IN!!!

 

Final arrangements have been made and we are set to go.

Well, it looks like my cabinmate, Tim, is sick and cannot make it to Torrey. That leaves me with half a cabin available for Friday and Saturday nights. Contact me ASAP if you would like to share. (For any noobies, the cabins have separate bedrooms.)

You've gotta love my luck...

 

We made as far as Bicknell and my bike died. Larry's on the way with the truck, but it's either an alternator belt or an alternator as the warning light and battery symbol came on, and then the battery slowly died over the next 20 minutes. Oh well. Luckily there is a belt in the garage and Amy's coming down tomorrow. (yeah, I'm hoping it's just the belt and I don't have to test my extended warranty's coverage just yet...)
