Dave P
2007 R1200RT, scratched valve covers from previous owner (honest) I have in the past used JB Weld as filler (I think the slow kick stuff has a higher temperature rating). Are there any suggestions on a good top coat paint to use? I think Ive used wheel paint in the past, it's got a higher temp rating. Ideas? Dave Link to comment
duckbubbles
I have had good results on my '85 K100RS engine covers, transmission, swingarm and rear end (All Aluminum Silver) with VHT High Temp Wheel Paint available at just about any Auto parts store. I used no. SP188 Ford Argent Silver. Frank Link to comment

lkraus
The official paint color is Weiss (White) Aluminum Metallic Matte #3, the paint code is 954. I've used the ColorRite paint (SKU# 8055) at a very high price, but I would not do it again. Almost any generic spray can of aluminum paint will be a good match, including the $2 store brand I bought on clearance. There is no need to look for high temperature paint, the valve covers don't get that hot. Link to comment
