longjohn
We met at Starbucks on rt66 and started up Glendora Mt Road. It was a lovely clear day. Looking down into Azusa Cyn with ca39 winding it’s way in the distance. I panned left and Azusa and the LABasin came into view in the distance. on Glendora Mt Road we rode over to 39 and up to Crystal Lake and had a bite to eat at the little store there with the mountains in the background. and we had company. the vfr’s shift lever was one piece cast aluminum, but the toe part snapped off 3/4 of the way up 39. Carl was able to continue up for a rest, and then get home by doing very little shifting. He subsequently drilled and tapped a sturdier toe piece into place. we took a couple of days to ride to Atascadero a couple of weeks ago and I’ll be posting that shortly. Lots of picks to go thru. 7 Link to comment

longjohn
We headed down angeles crest hwy thinking we could get to the rest area just past the tunnels, but the gate was closed about 2.5mi west of there. It was still worth it as much of the road has been closed for months. It’s sooo pretty up there. 1 Link to comment
