realshelby Posted October 29, 2020 Share Posted October 29, 2020 Called "Pitch". In all thread types. Metric threads are known to have some oddball pitches. So be very careful. Threads look right, even start ok. But quickly tighten and become galled. An M6 fastener will likely have a 1mm or .75 mm pitch. If you have a correct fastener, lay it into the threads of the one you want to check. If it fits into the threads all the way, it is the correct pitch. Link to comment
