Garmin IV work with 2016 R1200RT?

Does a Garmin NAV IV function with the BMW bracket on a 2016 R1200 RT? Can you use the “whiz wheel” to scroll and select on the NAV IV GPS?

From what I have read, it will fit in the bracket, but will not work with WW.

I believe you need either a Nav 5 or 6.
