dduelin
I just did my second oil change on my new-to-me 2007 RT. The first one I put 4 quarts even in the sump and during the 6000 mile OCI the oil level glass usually read 1/2 to 3/4 full after parking first on the side stand then a few minutes later putting it up on the center stand. This last time I put in 4 quarts and 6 oz oil as that is approximately the 4 liters the sump capacity calls for. The oil level glass shows no air space at all checking as above. Hot, first on the side stand a few minutes then up on the center stand. I think the engine might be a tiny bit overfilled but not enough to worry about? Link to comment
Rinkydink
The amount of oil you put in equals approx 4 liters (providing you’re sure your math/measurements are correct). There should not be a problem if you changed the oil filter too. You could remove some of it if it really bothers you. I personally would just keep an eye on it and ride it. Link to comment
RTJohn
I wouldn't remove any oil. The manual calls for 4 liters of oil during an oil change. The level will be slightly above the sight glass for a bit. It's not overfilled. Link to comment
Rougarou
I just do four quarts and let it go Link to comment
dduelin
I did replace the filter. Thanks for the replies. I'm going riding. 3 Link to comment
