MontanaBud
I installed a new set of Speigler brake lines on my new (to me) 2004 RT. This line on the right front caliper looks and feels like there is too tight of a bend. On the last set of Spiegler's I installed, this same line was a minimum of 1" too long and had to be replaced by Spiegler. It looks like this one may be a bit too long too, unless I've installed it incorrectly. Any thoughts or suggestions on what to do? Thanks! Link to comment

Can you post a picture of a little higher up so we can see that area? Link to comment

Oldrider51
Have an 04 R1100S with Speigler lines and your bend looks very similar to mine. I have had mine on the bike for over five years without any problems and the calipers have been removed every year for the ABS brake flush. However, your results maybe different. Link to comment

Evening Bud Yes, that helps a bit, you might try loosening the nut holding that block then rotating the block slightly (within it's play). Probably won't gain you much but might help slightly. Best suggestion I can offer is to send these pictures to Speigler to see what they have to say. Link to comment
Still CAL
Spiegler sent me a line that didn't work on my 97 RT for the same reason: an incorrect fitting owing to a mid-year crossover kurfuffle. Send them your pics, I'm positive they can make you a better suited line. Mine was no charge, just a few days to get the new line. Great support. 2 Link to comment
Lowndes
Looks like you would be better off with a 70 degree banjo fitting on the bottom of that line instead of the 90 degree: https://spieglerusa.com/bcp/product/view/id/21786/package/22024/item/10/ Link to comment
szurszewski
I thought the last two sets I installed were a little “tight” in the same spot - right front caliper. The most recent was on my newly acquired 1100s - so those were installed this August and look like this on the right: but much less of a bend on the left front caliper. The set before that was on our LT sidecar rig - I don’t have pictures of those, but I feel like the right side was about the same, and it did last at least through the next 40,xxx+ miles (with a LOT of heavy brake use to slow down our 2000lb GVW). If you do talk to spiegler I’ll be interested to hear what they say. Link to comment
taylor1
Mine looks just like the Montana Bud's on my RT. About 5 years with no problems , but always knew it wasn't quite right. Will keep a close eye on this and see what Speigler does. Always thought it was just me. Link to comment
Still CAL
This is my 97 RT, just a straight banjo: Mine is a 97 with Brembos, whereas Bud's are the BMW-logoed units on a 2004 RT. Probably different mounting than mine. Link to comment
MontanaBud
Back with an update: Spiegler sent me a new hose that is 10mm shorter (140mm instead of 150mm), and I think it fits great; definitely better in any case. (Thanks, Brian!) New pictures attached. Link to comment
