What model low muffler will work on the R1150R?

Hi and welcome to BMWST.COM. There is a muffler lowering kit available from BMW with a exhaust elbow, clamps, and included bag mount for full size left bag. Check out www.r1150r.net . There are a lot of good people there and good information for your bike.

If you are doing this to accomodate a full sized left case, I suggest you try NO muffler before spending the money on a lowering kit. The bike is surprisingly quiet with no muffler. It is simple to take off and put on, so there is no harm and no cost in trying it.

I take it the BMW computer compensates for the loss of restriction on the exhaust. Have you done this for a prolonged period?

To mount a full size left case on a R1150R/GS, even if you leave the muffler off you still need a different lower mounting point for the large bag.

The folks on www.r1150r.net will provide you with nice pictures of exhaust tips and pennytech brackets for large saddlebags. Much less expensive than lowering kits and aftermarket exhaust. Very friendly and helpful folks.
