Peter H. Posted April 21, 2006 Share Posted April 21, 2006 I picked up a new '06 R1200GS this past weekend and absolutely love it. I found this o-ring in one of the side cases. It is about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Any idea what it is for? Unfortunately, the owners manuals for this bike were missing and had to be ordered - so I am unable to check the manual. Sorry to laugh, but that actually looks like the band that keeps the owners manual in place underneath the seat at the front of the gas tank. Link to comment
GelStra Posted April 21, 2006 Share Posted April 21, 2006 Remove the seats. Right under the back edge of the tank is a holder for the manual. Use the rubber ring as a strap to hold it in place. BTW, the seat will go down better if you tuck the book under the tank. Dang, Mark. You're quick! Link to comment
