bendbill Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Please see attached pic: My 2018 RT with 4K miles. Today I noticed a threaded hole above the rear brake pedal where something used to be bolted in. Any ideas what it is--or more importantly--what is was securing? Thanks
Clievma Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Hi Bendbill, nothing came loose, we all have that hole. Just find an appropriate fastener to fit if you’re worried about the look. I think 19s started coming with a faster fitted in the blank hole 🤷🏼♂️ Cheers
bendbill Posted September 9, 2019 Author Posted September 9, 2019 Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll find some suitable plug
Oldironken Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 I would consider using as a "wash me" sensor, when it gets filled up with road grime it's time to wash the bike. 1
Tactical 1 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Believe it is the mounting hole for the weather protection package https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=56210&rnd=07242017

John Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Sure it's not a weep hole for a leaking brake pedal?
John Bentall Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 It is definitely a hole for a fastener of the weather kit.

wbw6cos Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 It looks like we have the same parts on the 1250 RT. On my C, my toes end up getting chilly on a long ride in freezing temps. I will see if I notice any difference on a similar ride on the RT, May have to wait a while on that. Temps are still in 70's / 90's. UGH! I did not realize that is what they were for. I just though tupperware, tupperware, and more tupperware. Wow, functional tupperware.
AndyS Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Well, the front is parts 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 11. However, my pillion and I find the rear set to be really useful for keeping her feet drier and warmer. I personally recommend the complete kit. So, include 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11 and 12. All very easy to fit and remove too.
MichiganBob Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Another plus for this board ... didn't know this option even existed. Thanks. Bob
Trilegy Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Does it deflect heat too?? We don't have the cold problem in Aus.
Rinkydink Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 My bike came with a screw already installed. Did I get 1/10 of 1% of the weather kit for free?

APDDave Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 My RT-P came with the full weather protection kit installed. I can say it does make a big difference in keeping your feet out of the road spray in the rain. Not sure so much about adding heat in the cold
