I believe the correct word is "designed."  Pretty sure HD did the "building."

No...but I do remember when Porsche put a 911 engine in Moody airplanes.  I think it only lasted one year.  It was expensive and not many sold.

Heard one take off once and you could tell ... engine horsepower rated at 5300 rpm, while typical Lycoming/Continental engines usually only in the 2000s

found this.... http://www.porscheaviation.com/  Look a that reduction gear box connecting the prop.  Most props go supersonic around 2700 RPM and begin to be less efficient around 2800....  So the engine had to have a lot of rev's to produce 210HP and a complicated gear reduction system to accommodate prop needs.  Still it was a cool thing.  I went to see one with my wife when they came out but at the time it was  far far far out of financial reach for me ~1980 I
