Bernie Posted October 3, 2019 Author Posted October 3, 2019 Hey everyone! Now that FART 2019 is in the books and most of you are home recovering from this excellent event, don’t forget that the SECFF Lunch in Metter, GA is just around the corner. Also note that even though we have no firm commitments from the weather gods, I think it may just cool off a little bit by then. So check your tires and brakes, clean your visors and wind shields and program your GPS’s and Phones to meet us in Metter, GA for lunch on October 19! 4
Kinsley Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Yea, if it's in the 90's that late in the year I'm moving North. It's 98 degrees here in Woodstock today... 1 1 1
BamaJohn Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I have house guests coming, 2 different ones, over the next 10 days. Then I have reservations in Bryson City to ride the "leaf-peeping train", and finally a visit with my daughter in Asheville. Oh yes...and new tires for the bike this coming Sunday. Hope to join you all for one of these RTE's soon....jb 2
wbw6cos Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Yesterday, my sister sent me a pic of her thremometer reading 99 in SE Philadelphia. I told her that she won that contest because at the time I had 94 at work in Norcross, GA. Of course it went up, but she still won. ....moving north. HA 3
SpkLife Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Promise not to laugh... So have you ever been sooo stoked to go on a ride with fellow friends and riders that you forgot to check a detail or 2 of the ride? Well.. this happened to me last weekend! I was determined to not be last (Bernie knows me) so I got up especially early Saturday morning and got on the rode excited still with the morning fuzzies. As I got to the Kangaroo early I noticed I was the 1st one there! Sweet - I beat Bernie! So I waited, got some water at the store, and waited, saw a rider come off the interstate and cruise on by but no one pulling in...hmmm I wonder if something happened to Bernie? I wonder if something happened to all the riders who were meeting at the Kangaroo! I wonder if I had paid close attention to the details for the lunch ride, well let's see I'll just check my email. OH MAN! It's next weekend!! I decided to go ahead and ride and it was a beautiful day to ride up to Metter - my first time there. Here's a short video of the ride last Saturday and looking forward to this Saturday! :-D 3 1 1
Bernie Posted October 16, 2019 Author Posted October 16, 2019 Well, it certainly cheered me up this morning to see you post, @Mrooney64. Thank you for scouting the route and warning the local live stock of our future arrival. I am not sure if you will join us on This Week Saturday for your second ride to Metter, but you are welcome to it. Nice video and your new bike looks classy. The weather is shaping up great for this Saturday, as it decided to finally cool off a little bit So don‘t forget, it is this week Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Bevricks Char House Grille 1055 Fortner Rd. Bernie Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 Well guys, due to a possible Tropical storm covering all of Georgia this Saturday, we (Terry, Kinsley and I) decided to move the lunch meeting one week to October 26th, 2019. Sorry about this, but there is no way to control or predict weather. So please change your plans and try to meet us in Metter next Saturday. 3 2
terryofperry Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Good decision Bernie, 100% throughout the state and into Florida Terry 3

I really should be leaving weather forecasts to Terry. He really is much better at it. As for me, the weather doesn’t bother me. I have been to several of these events in pouring rain. The last two times we had such heavy rain in the forecast, the turn out was two to four riders. A lot of guys enjoy the ride and the restaurant in Metter and would like attend the lunch without having to ride the whole day in rain. Sorry Guys! 1 1

wbw6cos Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 5 hours ago, Bernie said: Great and thank you! Also Happy Birthday! i hope you got to go for a nice ride today. Thank you very much. I did take the R 1200 C out for a short ride today to warm the engine for an oil and filter change. A stop for gas, a stop at the PO box, then the home supply store before my Lilburn-Lawrenceville-Snellville loop to finish the ride. The sun came out and with the wind, started to dry things out for a cruise on the mower, basically trimming the grass and moving the leaves and pine straw off the lawn. HA 1
wbw6cos Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Did you see a tropical disturbance gathering in the Gulf? It is eerily similar to Fester, or whatever it was called. HA. Not this time, Yo! 1
Bernie Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 Well William, our resident weather person is MIA. So no weather forecast is a good weather forecast. 1
steve.foote Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Oh man! I got so wrapped up on a home improvement project that I completely forgot about Metter today. That's what happens when I fail to put something on my calendar. 1
wbw6cos Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 If there was only some sort of technology available to set a reminder. 1 1 2
terryofperry Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Good to see everyone, great turnout, Florida contingent was well represented from the Atlantic to the Gulf and in between, always good company. Rumour has it the GS group was outnumbered this time. I'm afraid I contributed to that as well. There was a beautiful Tiger in the bunch also, always good to have Keith join us. A new attendee as well, I missed his name, sorry but welcome. Real Green Beans, not those hammered flat ones. And pickles, wonderful pickles. Thanks guys, pleasure to have lunch with y"all. Terry
MikeB60 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Great ride today! Linked up with the Jacksonville crew and somehow Bernie managed to find a few curves in South Georgia! Great lunch, looking forward to next month. 3
