IMO a correct synopsis of this and previous IBA Rally result. Who can forget Rob Nye's flaming FD when he attempted to go to Alaska in a previous rally. Many BMW riders have carried spare FD's. Even the new ones in this years Rally had problems.

 

For some a once in a lifetime chance. Months of prep to ensure a trouble free ride. Thousands of dollars spent including the big entry fee, and then to have it go south because of mechanical failures has to be very frustrating.

 

But congrats to Wendy Crockett, first time a female won and with a mileage total of 12,998.9 miles in 11 days. A great effort.
