Tank bag/Legitimate Website?

Hello everyone, and Happy Easter.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of or had any experience with www.scutrade.top. The reason I ask is because I found that they have a brand new "BMW R1200RT Tank Bag with Base Plate" for only $38.99. I did some preliminary research as to the websites legitimacy, but I couldn't find anything that said it was malicious/spam/scam, etc. I know the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is". That being said, I'm almost tempted to try it, but I wanted to check with you guys beforehand.

Thank you-

Mike.

Me thinks it’s 100%...   SCAMz!  You said it...   “if it sounds too good to be true...”

I have the “real” BMW bag, I think the > $300 price is probably a tad ridiculous, but yes, it is very well made.

It’s worth a ton more than $39, :4323:just not sure it’s worth $366.

My dad is an avid rider and has a BMW tank bag on his R1150RT. I asked him his thoughts on it and he brought up the fact that if it were "Genuine", it would have BMW on the bag. But even if it were a knock-off, the baseplate would still be usable. Which reminded me of an article where a guy replaced his worn out bag and bolted a 12 liter Cortech tank bag onto the old baseplate. It turned out really nice and is actually my end goal. (find a baseplate and use a different bag).

That website looks totally sketchy and thrown together. I'd not give them my credit card or banking data of any kind...BUT if you want to gamble with your fifty bucks, maybe use a pre-paid visa and have it shipped to work. Or your "friend's" work ;)

If you do go for it, let us know!

Morning Mike

It doesn't look good with a quick Google search.

https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=IW28XOOvB8XEsAX6sr-4BA&q=todtrade.top+review&oq=todtrade&gs_l=psy-ab.1.1.0j0i30.1292.3357..6880...0.0..0.87.595.8......0....1..gws-wiz.....0..0i131j0i10j0i10i30j0i5i30.S4eGYLJYfkU

You say it's new, I don't see anything stating the it is new but it does say genuine BMW. Could be used, flood damaged, & stinky but it still is genuine BMW.

If you look at their shipping policy it sort of says that once out of their hands & shipped then it is the  buyers responsibility. So if it gets lost, incorrectly shipped, or they say they sent it but didn't then it looks like your problem not theirs.

If you are looking for a red flag on this then there seems to be plenty.

Which is clearly not the case here

Ok. I like the idea of using a prepaid Visa...BUT...the shipping risk is a good point. I'll muster up with some patients and stick with checking Beemer Boneyard. Thanks guys.
