dirtrider
Parked my 2005 RT and a week later it cranks but won't fire. Plenty of fuel, fuel pump or relay maybe? Morning RET2 No real fuel pump relay in your 1200 bike, more of a fuel pump controller. Can you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds when you first turn the key on? Look on the dash when you turn the key on, anything showing, like EWS, if so then you could have a key pellet or antenna ring issue. (the early 1200 bikes had a sort-of recall/service bulletin on the antenna ring failing & causing a no-start). If you have other keys on your key chain then make sure they are not dangling down causing an interference therefore confusing the bikes anti-theft system. Does your bike have a factory or aftermarket alarm system on it??????? If so what do you have as we might have to address that as the cause. Lastly-- try holding the twist grip at about 1/8 to 1/4 open THEN try starting the engine. Link to comment
