macx
Had the rear caliper disconnected so bled the rear brake circuit. Checked the front reservoir, it's full, and I've done nothing to the fronts since it all worked. The backs work with both the front lever and rear pedal, but the light keeps flashing. Any ideas? Just for the sake of asking, is there a specified clearance between the sensor and the rear ABS wheel? Or, how can one tell if the rear sensor has gone bad? Thx. Link to comment
PAS
It would help to know what kind of bike it is. Link to comment
kioolt
Also, the way the lights blink tell a little. Fast, slow, together, alternate, etc.? Link to comment

Afternoon macx If the rear brake works from both the front lever & rear pedal then it must be an 1150 of some sort. Did you remove the gas tank & refill the ABS controller rear reservoir after the rear brake work????? If not then start with that. Just for the sake of asking, is there a specified clearance between the sensor and the rear ABS wheel?---Yes, both the 1100 & the 1150 have a specified sensor air gap. The 1100 sensor is adjustable but 1150 air gap is NOT adjustable. Or, how can one tell if the rear sensor has gone bad-- you can test with an ohmmeter, or test it with an AC voltmeter by spinning the wheel & looking for an AC voltage output. macx
Sorry for the lack of info, always in too much of a hurry with too much to do. 04 R1150R You've answered one question about air gap, it's apparently non adjustable. They don't even show spacers (of various thicknesses) in the parts fiche. I've tried testing with an ohm meter set at 200 and get no reading. The only light flashing is the ABS light itself, once per second. As I said it's been several years since I've ridden it and have forgotten a lot of details, altho I had done a lot of work on the bike. Since I posted this, I discovered and was reminded of the drive away test to get it over 15 mph or whatever. I'll give that a try. Thanks!! Edited July 14, 2017 by macx Link to comment

Afternoon Macx It might be as simple as the ride away test not run yet--- Gen light (OFF), ABS light flashes at 1Hz (means) ABS is not available. The Pull-away test not completed. Link to comment
Shiny Side Up
macx, Mine flashes until I hit about 3mph - then goes off. When it's setting still (does not have to even be running) turn on the ignition and after things settle down hit the front or rear brakes. The flash should accelerate in sequence. D.R. is more than likely on target. I'd start it and ride down the road a ways to see if it stops... Link to comment
