24K Service

narcosis

Recommended Posts

Just providing this info for a data point. Completed my 24K service about a thousand miles early in preparation of the UN. Bought a shim kit in anticipation of valve clearances out of spec but they were all good, hardly changing from the 12K measurements. Air filter was a little dirty, about the same as the first time it was changed. Probably could have went another 12K with it. Brake pad check enlightened me that I'm too heavy on the rear brake (the pads were really thin). That kind of surprised me since I generally engage the front brakes first. Front brake pads were fine. Fluids, plugs, etc. looked normal for their time in use. I did add speed bleeders before I started this time and was glad I did. Sure makes the brake fluid change go a lot easier. That's it. Ready for the trip.
