The PO had disconnected the rear wheel inductice sensor. The bike seems to run fine wo it. Is it only for the Abs? Any reason i thould reconnect it?

Afternoon Imgnr

The rear wheel sensor is for both the ABS system & the speedometer. No need to hook it up if your ABS controller is removed.

Thank you dirtrider. On my triumph it controls firing so imperative for running.

Morning Imgnr

I can't see how the rear wheel speed sensor controls firing (if it did then the engine wouldn't run with the bike sitting still)

It could have an effect on engine timing or fueling if the bike has traction control as the front to rear wheel speed diffential is used to figure rear wheel slippage for traction control concerns.
