What is that round plug above the three rocker switches on the left dash, some kind of 12VDC plug-in? What kind of connector does it take? I'm looking to plug my GPS in. 2000 R1100RT.

You can get a USB socket to fit it, too.

 

Someone here had a good idea to install a USB port in the "glove box" beside the gas tank. That way it stays dry and can be locked up (the USB wire can exit the box thru the foam-rubber seal around the top).
