Tracy B
I'm in the process of doing my own radio retrofit on my 1996 r1100rt, I've been following the instructions with this link. http://www.bmwrt.com/faq/radios.htm My question is this: On my bike when the ignition is off, but not locked, the radio still plays and I have to turn off manually. When I lock the ignition, the radio turns off automatically. Did I do something wrong or is this the way the bike is wired? Link to comment

Evening Tracy B Look on the rim of the ignition switch-- if the key is turned to the ® position the radio will be powered. R= Radio. Link to comment
Tracy B
That answers my question exactly. Kind of weird, in my opinion, but I'm not 100% ysed to the bike, that's why I like these kind of forums and doing projects. Link to comment

(I've actually listened to mine recently) Link to comment
