Uggles
Geday, Got a mate with a '95 R1100RT. His brake rotors (disks) appear to be two part with the main braking ring "floating" around a fixed part and held in place by several grommet shaped rings. His main concern is that there is a fair degree of play in the floating section (approx 2mm). Oh wise ones - Is this normal?? Link to comment
Wooster
If the 2 mm play is lateral, then, yes, it's normal that floating rotors float that much. Geday, Wooster Link to comment

Side-to-side play is intentional, it helps to prevent side pressure from the calipers. Too much fore-aft play indicates the bobins are worn. These are available from your dealer and are quite easy to replace. Andy Link to comment
