happybrown
Can anyone tell me if I need the 34 1 531 and 34 1 535 brake tools to replace my front pads? And if so where can I buy them? Link to comment
Brian Louw
You don't need any special tools unless you include Torx and hex head. Those tools are just used to push the pistons back. I have changed pads on my bike and a friend's without them with no problems, Just do one side at a time and push back the pistons like you would with any caliper. Make sure the brake fluid reservoir is not too full, else it will overflow when you push the pistons back. Remember to pump the brakes and check fluid level before riding. Link to comment
SKYGZR
Open the bleeder screws first, prior to retracting the pistons. Won't push fluid back into the reservoir. Link to comment
