Rizuli
Arrrgh! I've been all over Max's fiche for my '98 R1100RT and can't find the part number for the 2 "rubber cushions" (Clymer's term) that attach the muffler to the brackets on the center stand. One of mine is torn loose and the other is almost so. Can anyone supply the BMW part number to me? TIA. Riz Link to comment

Rizuli
Thanks, Davis. Off to Chicago BMW to order. Riz Link to comment
DavidEBSmith
Don't be surprised if it's not available. And don't be disappointed, because it doesn't appear to serve any real function. Link to comment
Davis
In fact, they discontinued using them at some point. My '96 originally had them but when I replaced the exhaust with a stock system from a later (2000 IIRC)RT, the newer cat doesn't have the ears to use them. That was about 30k miles ago and no problems without them. Link to comment
steve404
And should you still want them, I can probably send you a pair for the cost of shipping. Link to comment
Rizuli
Yeah, I can see the bushings don't seem to serve much of a purpose other than to maybe hold up the exhaust while I'm trying to insert the headers. But, I ordered one anyway. What did surprise me is that the final drive pinion gear seal was not available. Link to comment
