Deltamark Posted August 29, 2015 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Today I changed the oil on my 1999 R1100RT. When I started the bike and put it in neutral, I noticed a slight whirring sound. When I pull in the clutch handle, the sound goes away. I always wear ear plugs when I ride, so I never noticed this sound before. Is it normal or a bad sign with the clutch or something else? Was hoping to take a trip next weekend. Link to comment

A little gear mesh (tooth contact) noise is normal but a bearing roar isn't. You might want to drop by your local BMW dealer & have a tec take a listen to it just to be sure. Link to comment
