Takencareofbusiness
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/mcy/5136218542.html just saw this on CL. now wants only $1700. Says that it resists shifting down? will this mean a transmission rebuild? Almost seems worthwhile to buy and have it become a winter project. Link to comment
Drakas
Getting hard to downshift into second or first usually means that the clutch splines need lubing IME. Whether it will need transmission work will depend on how much those splines are worn, and how long you're willing to drive on worn ones. I'd take a chance at it. Its got less miles than the 99 RT-P I bought last year (75K) for $2500. IME, if you can get your hands on a running bike for less than $2000, you're only risking a few hundred bucks, tops, even if you have to part it out. Link to comment
