Measuring Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) voltage

Since Roger mentioned using TPS voltage in tune ups, and since someone may have damaged his MCU during this measurement, maybe it would be good to know the best way to do this.

Hi Lee, That's the way I do it as well.

I just used some sewing needles that I poked up through where the wires go through the little rubber seals. Pushed it just far enough to make contact with the little metal connectors at the end of the wire. Then I used a set of adapters that slip on the end of the test leads allowing the them to clamp on the needles.

 

Got the needles from Walmart and the adapters from Radio Shack.
