ArmyGuy
Took a little ride down to the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) to the TT Travel event at their HQ in Niedereschach, Germany. Spent two nights camping on the site grounds and three days riding some of the best roads for motorcycling around. Two of the most notable roads are the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse (B500) and Johanniskreuz (B48) as well as lots of fun, twisty roads in between. Also, lots of beautiful vistas. I had an opporutnity to meet Herbert Schwartz (no pix of that though) and posed next to his moto with my friend. During our talk with Mr. Schwartz, he mentioned they are planning on opening another TT outlet on the East Coast in the near future. I got to sit on the new RS....I LIKED IT!!! They also had an S1000XR that I sat on. I liked that one too. We went to the highest waterfalls in Germany, Triberg Waterfalls, as well as the Rhinefalls in Switzerland. We had plenty of pie and bier... It was a great warmup to our Alps trip in two weeks. Link to comment
Kathy R
All that and in two weeks you ride the Alps? Very, very nice. Thanks for sharing. That first shot triggered my wanderlust. Link to comment
schneeman
very nice ! these are some great roads if the weather is nice. Tried a similar thing, went through Schwarzwald to and through Alps, but on the 3rd day the rain got serious and non-stop and had to give up, didn't have all the gear necessary to ride in those conditions. Seems you've had the weather on your side so far, i hope it stays so for the Alps as well Enjoy and good luck ! Cheers S Link to comment
ArmyGuy
Thanks, Kathy and Schneeman. We were supposed to get a lot of rain but it went South into Switzerland instead. I've been through the Schwarzwald with less than 100 meters visibility due to fog. That wasn't much fun. Link to comment
Alfred02
When seeing pictures like this, it gives me a stab of home sickness. Unfortunate, life isn't fair and it is unlikely that I will see my country of birth again, while still able to ride a bike...if ever. Link to comment
MikeRC
Thanks. Hope to make it there one day. Mike Cassidy Link to comment
