RPG
Running low on the current set of Michelin Pilot 3's on my '04 RT. And I must say, I've been quite impressed. Nearly 13k, track day in the pouring rain, smooth, quiet, etc. Best tires I've ever had on a bike, IMHO. So I am considering the new PR4's, but there isn't a rear size (170/60-17) unless I order the PR4 GT. Stiffer sidewall I'm told for increased loads. Would that equate to a stiffer ride? Can I use the standard PR4 in front and the GT in the rear? Use the standard PR3 for the rear and the PR4 for the front? thanks, RPG Link to comment
mneblett
I run PR4GTs on my R1150RT-P, and like them better than the (already darn good) PR3s. Also ran them on my last K16GTL and currently on the wife's '12 R12RT. Not noticeably stiffer in the vertical direction. The benefit of the GT sidewall is less lateral movement (e.g., resists being shaken side-to-side by wind buffeting the tail trunk). My suggestion is to run the PR4GT's on both ends. I'll be surprised if you notice any difference in ride comfort. Link to comment
Glockdawg
I'm on my second set of PR-4's and really like them a lot. I haven't tried the GT version, so I can't comment that particular tire. Link to comment
