Peter W
Anyone know where the coolant drain plug is on a K1100? I know it's near the pump, but on the right side there is what appears to be a drain plug (allen head) but it is above where the lower hose connects to the pump, so it would not drain th4e coolant all out. On the left side there are two sensors, I would guess one to be the water temp and one to be oil pressure. I could remove one of those, but which one? Thanks, Peter Link to comment
cjack
The one for the water temp is formerly the drain plug. Or you could just remove the lower hose if you are impatient. The capacity is about .5L I think. Mix BMW coolant 1 to 1. I think the coolant is the smaller one...take it out and see. Put a pan under it first. Link to comment
Peter W
Ah, but which is the one for the water temp? Is the the one with the large nut thing or the smaller one above it? Link to comment
cjack
See above. If you ground the wire going to the pressure switch, the oil light will go on with the key on...or better, with the key on, engine off, remove the wire and the pressure light will go off. Link to comment
