Yes, it is the casting the rear wheel and brake disc are attached to. And it is not a recall yet. Just something to keep an eye on. Link to comment

1NOTRED Posted March 13, 2015 Share Posted March 13, 2015 My 06 RT had the early cast aluminum wheel/disc carrier. It developed multiple cracks around most of the threaded bolt holes holding the wheels and disc. Fearing a possible casting failure (plus a need for a new brake disc), I rebuilt the rear end assy and replaced the disc/wheel carrier with the later cast steel verrsion at 183K miles. Checking the original cracked aluminum part after removal and clean-up was quite scary. Link to comment
