Throttle body sync

Just checking to see if syncing the throttle bodies on a Camhead is the same procedure I have used on my oildhead?

Very much no.

 

The camheads use electrically-driven throttle position actuators and more sensors than the oilheads. I don't have a link handy at the moment, but the approach is well-documented. Try a search on GS911 and sync to see what comes up (the GS911 has a mode to "park" the actuators during a sync operation).

The only adjustment is the cable barrel for other than idle IIRC.

Yes! The GS911 is a great tool, but not necessary.

Thanks, I use a manometer on my oilhead. That won't work on the camhead?

I use a carb tune. Have used it on GS's from the '04 year to the '12 year.

Never used a 911 and never had a problem. As I said, a great tool but not necessary. If it was necessary, I'd have a couple of them.

I do not think there is a problem using a manometer on a camhead.
