I’ve have found 3 manufactures with specific side stand foot enlargements available for the 14R1200RT.

Hornig - http://www.motorcycleparts-hornig.com/BMW-R-1200-RT-LC/Alu-High-grade-Steel/Side-stand-foot-enlargement.html

I got this one, you can find it at several BMW dealers

Does having the enlargement plate really make that much of a difference? What is the problem that the plate is trying to solve?

The bike falling over from the weight drilling a whole in the surface (sand, asphalt). I still carry a plate to support the bike on some surfaces. http://www.aerostich.com/a-to-b-utilities/for-the-bike/sidestands/aerostich-cfsp-mk-ii-deluxe.html a flatten can works too.
