Verholen bar riser

I bought a set last summer and found the steering very wheel barrow like. I ended up taking them off after a short time and am wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or perhaps can offer a better way of settign them up. I'm wondering even though it seems as simple as possible to mount if perhaps I mounted it in a way that was less than ergonomically friendly. Thx for your opinions.
