New 28L top case, no lock...can I open?

In anticipation of taking delivery of my new RTW, I pulled the trigger on a ridiculously good deal on a 28L top case to go with it.

 

The caveat? It didn't come with a lock.

I realize that I'll need to buy the cylinder and have it keyed to match, I just want to see the inside of the thing.

 

Is it possible to open without screwing anything up?

I figured out to release the handle/mounting latch, but can't open the lid.

If it is like the 49L model you can use a screwdriver to open the lid.

On my 49L I was able to push in with my thumb where the lock would be to open the lid, I would think it would work same.

Does it still have a barrel fitted?

Not sure what you mean by barrel.

There is the plastic receiver with Lock > Open > Release in it.

I took the same deal, a good price on the 28L for the RTW. I pick mine up next week if the ESA comes in this week as promised.

 

I hope there is a lock cylinder in there too.
