Ed_K
Hey Guys, Is Hex-Head oil consumption about the same, less, or equal to Oil-Head consumption during break-in? Ed K R1150R Link to comment
Stephen H
About the same ... but if you have the "oil check" function on the BC then the <!> symbol will drive you crazy and encourage you to "top up" frequently and keep the level above the dot in the middle of the glass Link to comment
David
Less for me. About 1 qt in 13,000 miles. Link to comment
Jim VonBaden
My first NEW BMW, I had several used ones, and I was surprised at how much oil I used initially. I was 1 quart per 1000 miles for the first 6K. Since then, it seems to have cut back drastically, Now I have 1000 miles since the last oil change and it hasn't used any yet. Jim Link to comment
Hanzauf
My 1200RT is using very little oil so far. 3600 miles and have used approximately 1/3 of a quart. My computer hasn't given me any problems. (crossed fingers) Link to comment
Bob_Mc
About 3 quarts in 6,500 miles, with the first 2 in the first 2,000 miles. Most of my riding is cruising at freeway speed (or slightly above) but I crank the engine really hard in the canyons. My dealer says my oil consumption is normal. Link to comment
