dirtrider
Afternoon Basic answer is: what works for you, on the roads you ride. A larger heavier rider can require more preload than a light weight smaller rider. I can't speak specifically to your 2013RT but on the ones I am familiar with "they are not all the same" My current 1200RT has more spring than it needs for the basic bike so even with fully loaded luggage & moderate camping gear on the rear seat I usually ride with basic rider-only setting. My friend has an almost identical 1200RT & his is sprung softly so that he usually rides in the 2 up mode even as a single rider. So try each setting & use the one you like best. Link to comment
