Jim Miller
I bought an Airman Sparrow mini-compressor at the cycle show last week and plugged it into one of the accessory outlets on my 2002 R1150RT. It ran just fine for a second before blowing the 4 amp fuse (#3) in the main panel. Replaced the fuse and tried the other outlet with similar results. Anyone know the amperage draw of that unit? Would it be best to hard wire one of the outlets directly to the battery with a higher amperage in-line fuse, or can the bike's circuit handle a larger fuse? Link to comment
Rich06FJR1300
i have a 15 amp fuse in that position...that powers the windshield motor and the accessory sockets. I used an electric compressor as well and its worked fine ever since. This is the #3 position starting from the LEFT side of the bike...it even says this in the maintenance manual. Link to comment
