algover
2012 R1200RT - The right front turn-signal lens developed a hole in it. I assume it was hit by a rock or some such foreign object; I don't really know what caused it. I have a replacement turn-signal assembly, but am trying to figure out how to get at the old one to replace it. I don't see any obvious screws on the outside. My Haynes manual is of no help on this. I could just start taking things apart on the right front and hope to find my way in, but would prefer to have some clue as to what to look for. Can I get any guidance here? Link to comment
dirtrider
Afternoon Peter I haven't done the 2012 yet so my suggestion is to talk to your BMW dealer tec to see if the 2012 is different. If the 2012 is still like the older 1200RT's here is thread from a while back-- http://bmwsporttouring.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=729022&page=1 Link to comment
duckbubbles
Your owners manual gives procedures for replacing the bulb. This same procedure will let you remove the lens assy. There is a screw in the upper inboard area that is accessed by moving the mirror glass down and outboard as much as you can. Frank Link to comment
algover
Thanks, guys! It never occurred to me to look in the owner's manual! I got it done this week-end, although getting the part back in place and fastened took more time than anything else! Link to comment
