DrMikey Posted January 20, 2014 Share Posted January 20, 2014 The alternator in my '03 RT has about 100,000 more miles than the bike. I still have the original unit. It's bearings are shot. It might be nice to have a backup. Anyone know of a shop where it can be rebuilt? Alternatively, anyone know the OEM Bosch part #? Thanks Link to comment

They are the same Bosch part numbers as OEM. The only difference is a BMW sticker on the OEM. They sent an upgraded 60 amp (from original 50) for my 95 R1100RSL. Should help running Gerbings and PIAA's. My original went at 160,000 miles. That was the first time the bike had a break down while riding. Good luck Kurt Link to comment
