Little felt on push rod?

I'm doing the clutch on my new to me R1150RT and the little felt for the push rod doesn't want to connect one side to the other on the rod. I can almost squeeze it together?? Anu suggestions on how to be sure it fits when inserting it?

Are you referring to an 1100?

 

Ah - I see, there is a felt ring for the slave push rod.

 

Is it not seating itself on the groove?

No big deal if it doesn't touch but if you want to make it a bit longer just lay the felt on a hard surface then roll it with something round & hard (like a socket).
