TowJam
Quick sanity check... Under "normal" riding conditions for a 1200RT, would you expect to need a TBS performed prior to the regular 6k service? And a related question... What usually causes the throttle bodies to go out of synch? (Disclaimer: I'm not a wrencher - yet. Please be gentle if this is a stupid question.) Link to comment
David
Quick sanity check... Under "normal" riding conditions for a 1200RT, would you expect to need a TBS performed prior to the regular 6k service? That's actually a part of the 6k service. Bike is cold when valve clearances are adjusted. Then the bike is warmed up and the throttle bodies are synchronized. And a related question... What usually causes the throttle bodies to go out of synch? Stretched cable, usually, between the two throttle bottles. One is controlled and the other is "sympathetic" in that it just follows the lead of the other. Though I haven't delved into the 12 series as much. Link to comment
