Jerry_75_Guy
The left channel contact in the female stereo output port in my Pro M1 is providing intermittent contact with the male plug to the loop lead that goes to my Ipod. The intercom box is located in the lower left side of the tailcone on my bike. I believe the underside of the pillion seat has been rubbing on the male plug end of the stereo loop lead, and bent the left stereo contact in the box by levering it. Now, unless I hold it just right, I get nothing through the left channel. How can I fix this? I looked at the intercom box, and didn't immediately see an easy way to open the case and bend the contact back into place (assuming that's the true cause, and appropriate fix). Ideas? Tom B
The Pro-M1 has two screws under the label, however you will find that if you take the box apart to see the PCB mounted music socket, that the socket is a sealed washable type, as this help us with production (lacquer) and you for reliability against water contamination, therefore the Socket is not serviceable and so the ONLY remedy will be to replace the socket, either with your lead wired directly in place, or a new part. My advice must be that you return the product to either your Authorised Autocom Dealer or directly to your Distributor (TopGear for the USA) for a quality service that is warranted by Autocom UK. This sort of job should be serviced and dispatched back to you the same day it arrives or thereabouts, and should not cost too much. Please call TopGear for further advice/costs. Jerry_75_Guy
Ouch. Thanks for the response Tom. I was hoping to 'skate away' with a simple home fix, but I can see why that is a fairly unlikely outcome. I just hate to go through the process of cutting all the cable ties, and pulling out my nice neatly installed wires Link to comment

You could probably skate away by removing only the intercom box, leaving the leads safely zipped into place. Link to comment

If I can manage that, or even just have access to the connectors inside on the board, that out to do it. Link to comment
