dirtrider
Morning n9owk66 You can use either-- The specs were originally made in millimeters so that is the most correct way to check but the specs are broad enough that thousandths will work just fine for nominal settings. So either way is fine. Use what you have handy. Link to comment
racer7
Yup. I prefer go/no go gauges- easy to make sure you're with .001" with those compared to a plain gauge more easier influenced by feel when reading. The usual go/no go types have a .002" step between their thin and thciker part of the blade and using a size or or down acts as confirmation of the measurement. Link to comment
David R
I buy a set of gauges from .0025" up to .035 inch. They work on anything. Metric sets are a little harder to find, but converting is no big deal and most are marked in both. If it calls for .006", use that gauge to set the gap. a .005 should slide right in and a .007 should not. The whole set is about $10.00 US dollar at the local auto parts store. David Link to comment
