Heated Grip / Throttle Issue

Anyone else experiencing an issue with throttle tension and having the heated grips on high? Today I had the heated grips on high and noticed that when I released the throttle it did not return but had to be manually returned. Problem comes and goes with heat on high. I am assuming that the grip is expanding and pressing against the bar end.

That is the usual cause of the problem you are describing. Make some space between the grip and the barend.

I've had that problem with a couple of bikes (including my '11 RT) that have Throttlemeister throttle locks installed. They have to be shimmed very carefully to get them to work in all temps with and without the heaters on. You should be able to shim the OE bar end weight using flat washers to create enough space so the grip won't bind.

Down here in the Texas Gulf, we won't be needing the heated grips or seat until maybe Christmas. I've turned them on before just to make sure they worked. Changing of the seasons, what is that? dd50 tomp
